The Flickr Hurricane Katrina Relief Auction
The Flickr.com community has responded to the devastation of Hurricane Katrina by starting a group: http://www.flickr.com/groups/katrina_auction/
More than 400 flickr members have selflessly donated their photographic works, to be put up for auction. All proceeds will be given to American Red Cross distaster services.
Under every post showing the auctioned piece and its description, there's an option for non-flickr members to email their bids for the appropriate item.
" Want something to remember your Katrina Relief contribution to the American Red Cross? Fine photographs are available in exchange for the cash you give directly to aid the relief effort. Click here flickr.com/groups/katrina_auction/ to find out more! "
So far the highest bid has been over $150 for one photograph.
