Byblos Mediterranean Cusine- -Byblos Restaurant in New Orleans

By , About.com Guide

Byblos Mediterranean Cuisine:

Byblos is a favorite uptown haunt for many people in New Orleans. It serves what they call Coastal Mediterranean food, a combination of Greek and Lebanese. The restaurant makes its own fresh hummus, and while we are especially fond of the schwarma, the specialty is the variety of lamb dishes.

The Menu:

Don't miss the kabobs, especially the lamb or the kafta. Try the Veal Mediterranean with the grape leaves appetizer, but don't pass on the hummus. We also like the spinach and lentil soup. This is a good place to try out if you long for some middle-eastern cuisine, and is very convenient if you are shopping on Magazine Street.

Hours and Location:

3218 Magazine. (504)894-1233 Lunch is served Monday through Saturday from 11 to 4 PM. Dinner is 4-10 PM Sunday--Thursday, and until 11PM on Saturday and Sunday. On Sunday, lunch features the dinner menu, and is from 11 to 4. Reservations are suggested for dinner. website.
