What:
Every year the Preservation Resource Center presents a holiday home tour of private homes in the Garden District of New Orleans. In 2009 there are seven magnificent homes of the tour including the home of Mr. & Mrs. Thomas D. Westfeldt II. This home at 2340 Prytania Street was built in 1838 on the Livaudais plantation and is the oldest home in the Garden District. It has been occupied by the same family for over 150 years. Current resident Thomas Westfeldt II is a prominent coffee importer and local philanthropist, and was crowned as Rex -- King of Carnival -- during the 2009 Mardi Gras season.
When:
In 2009 the tour will be held on Saturday and Sunday, December 12 and 13, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

You can purchase tickets in advance by calling 504.581.7032 or visiting the
website. On the day of the tour, tickets may be purchased at the headquarters at Trinity Episcopal Church at 1329 Jackson Avenue.
Ticket prices:
„X Purchased in advance ¡V $30 for PRC members / $35 for non-members / $25 for groups of 10 or more. Purchased on the day of the tour ¡V all tickets are $40.
Tickets are valid for either day or both days during the weekend of the tour.
Special Features:
The event includes informational tours of the interiors of historic Garden District homes. There will be live performances by New Orleans musicians at each home on the tour. The tour headquarters include a café with food from Palate and New Orleans¡¦ premier holiday boutique with a wide variety of vendors selling unique artisan wares.
