New Orleans has a soccer team, although they are less well-known than either the Saints or the Hornets. The Jesters (fromerly the Shell Shockers) play in the Southeast Division of the United Soccer Leagues’ PDL. Their coach, Kenny Farrell, received the Coach of the Year title in 2003.

The Jesters play in City Park in a newly renovated Pan American Stadium. Their schedule runs from May through July. Local soccer standout and Jesuit graduate, Brandon Chagnard, is one of the players expected to play for the Jesters.
