A Great Rivalry:

One of the biggest rivalries in college football is played out in New Orleans every Thanksgiving weekend. The annual game between the Southern University Jaguars and the Grambling State Tigers is a nationally televised game that brings the faithful of both teams to New Orleans the day after Thanksgiving every year. The State Farm Bayou Classic is much more that just a football game, it is a celebration of everything that is good about college football, and about Black Universities.

A Weekend of Fun Events:

As great as the football game is, the Bayou Classic is much more than that. Other events include a battle of the bands and Greek show, and a huge fan rally with food and music.

Educational Events:

The weekend of Bayou Classic also includes an academic All-Star Challenge spotlighting some of the brightest minds on Black college campuses, Job and college fairs, and a scholarship gala. So, plan to come to New Orleans for Thanksgiving weekend to attend the State Farm Bayou Classic.
