Wine, Food and Music
The Reds, Whites & The Blues is a fun combination of wine, food and music for a good cause. All proceeds go to the Foundation for Entertainment Development and Education.
The Foundation
The Foundation for Entertainment Development and Education is non-profit organization was created in 1990 to further the cause of the arts in the New Orleans area. The Foundations focus is to provide grants for the education of music, theatre and dance. Continued support of these functions will allow the Foundation to continue to support activities that allow the education and training of talented youths and insure the future of the performing arts in New Orleans.
About the Gala
The event is held in mid-October each year in City Park at the beautiful Pavilion of the Two Sisters. There's always great food provided by local restaurants, great entertainment, a raffle and of course fine wines to sample. There are usually about 150 wines to taste and to pair with the gourmet foods.
The 2009 Event
In 2009 the date is Thursday, October 15th from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Food from outstanding local eateries including Besh Steak House, Byblos, Café Dega, Ralphs on the Park, Ruths Chris, The Steak Knife and a host of other fine establishments will be complemented by over 150 fine wines.
Entertainment
Entertainment will be provided by The Harry Mayronne Trio with a special appearance by vocalist, Ingrid Lucia, as well as Leah Chase, thus all will be guaranteed a good time! There will also be a raffle to win a collection of 150 bottles of wine. Tickets are $5 or 6 for $20.
