Besides the natural charms of the city in its most languid state(the height of summer),New Orleans' businesses offer some irresistable deals to lure you here in July, August and September.
From July 6-September 30, 2007, forty French Quarter businesses offer the second annual French Quarter Treasure Hunt. Initially designed to encourage locals to be a tourist in their own home town during the slow summer months, the out-of-town visitor can have some fun with it also. All you need is a treasure map and a willingness to eat beignets, shop at Canal Place, go to the Aquarium, take a riverboat cruise, and otherwise have a great time. Stamps from the businesses enter you into entry into the drawing for a treasure chest containing more than $8,000 in prizes including artwork, clothing, jewelry, gift certificates, and passes to local attractions.
