It is no secret that some of the best food in the world can be found in New Orleans. It is often said that everywhere else people eat to live, but in New Orleans we live to eat. That's very true, as you know if you've ever been here. Face it, that's one of the main reasons you come. I've collected some of my favorite New Orleans recipes so that you can have a taste of New Orleans food between visits.
Let's Start With Desserts
As the saying goes, life is short so eat dessert first. So, here are some recipes to start with. Banana's Foster at Brennan's is a great place to start. No meal at Brennan's is complete without Banana's Foster, not even breakfast.
Also a favorite is Bread Pudding Souffle with Whiskey Sauce from Commander's Palace, the Grand Dame of Uptown New Orleans restaurants.
How about some Creole Cream Cheese Cheesecake with Praline Sauce from the Palace Cafe? Do I have your attention yet?
Well then, let's not forget the classic Creme Brulee from the one of the most famous of New Orleans Restaurants, Arnaud's.
Ok, not that we've gained 10 pounds and are very happy, let's move on to appetizers. How about some Cajun Stuffed Mushrooms from Alex Patout's? That's sounds light and tasty.
