I get a lot of e-mail about food in New Orleans. Many of these are about the best places in town to get a great hamburger. Well, my favorites are Port of Call on Esplanade Ave. at the edge of the French Quarter and G B's Patio Grill on Maple Street one block off Carrollton, an easy ride on the St. Charles streetcar.
The Pro's Pics:
According to the Unknown Food Critic, a local TV celebrity, the list also includes Tuckers Tavern, which is located at 635 S. Roman Street near the Louisiana Superdome. Tucker's does deep fried burgers. Ye Olde College Inn at 3016 Carrollton Avenue, and Bud's Broiler, a local chain with several locations are also on the list. I have to confess I've eaten often at these and have to agree.
Friends:
I polled friends for their favorites. They all love the places already mentioned and add one more, Yo-Mama's at 727 St. Peter Street in the French Quarter.
