Soul Fest is one of the annual festivals at the Audubon Zoo in New Orleans. Soul Fest is a celebration of African American food, music, crafts and culture and entertainment
It is usually in early March. In 2012 it will be held on March 3rd and 4th.
Food and Music:
As with all New Orleans festivals, there's great food, in this case some of the best Soul Food New Orleans has to offer. And, of course music. You can hear featured artists on both days of the festival.
Beyond the Usual:
Soul Fest goes beyond the usual festival fair because it highlights the achievements and heritage of African Americans, and promotes healthy living via a health fair.
There are always special events just for kids at Soul Fest that involve fun, creative activities and chances for learning more about African-American culture and history.
There's always great music featuring live musical performances by local Jazz, Rhythm & Blues, Gospel and Hip Hop artists.
