Yoga for kids

Looking for some fun for the kids while you enjoy the Besthoff Sculpture Garden? Well, get out to City Park on July 7 and 14. There will be yoga classes for kids from 10 to 11 a.m. The cost is $10.00 and Mom and Dad can enjoy a walk through the sculpture garden while the kids are learning "frog" and "cobra."

Classic films

If classic films are you're thing, try the Classic Film Series. All films begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Stern Auditorium of the New Orleans Museum of art. Free to Museum members, $5 for non-members. Here's the schedule.

Thursday, July 14 Broken Blossoms (1919, D.W. Griffith, 90 min.) See the era before there were "Talkies", when silent films ruled the day! A Chinese missionary and a beautiful young woman have separate lives, but when their paths cross one fateful day, their peaceful existence will be disrupted and families will be tested.

Thursday, July 28 Morocco (1930, Josef von Sternberg, 91 min.) A seductive love story set in a Moroccan cantina. Starring Marlene Dietrich and Gary Cooper. Amy, a cabaret singer, and Tom, a legionnaire, begin a no-strings relationship, but when Tom is called for a perilous mission their true feelings for each other are revealed...but will it be too late for them?

How about a concert?

The Third Thursday Concert Series, where music, sculpture, and nature combine is preformed in the Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden. Concerts begin at 6:30 p.m. Free and open to the public.

Thursday, July 21 Andi Hoffman and the B-Goes One of New Orleans' best kept secrets! From fun and funky Cajun and Calypso to sweet and melancholy rock—they're a hybrid of rhythms and sounds.
