Forever New Orleans--Weekends: The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation and the New Orleans Metropolitan Convention and Visitors Bureau have teamed up with other sponsors to launch a new summer concert series. These four concerts will be held in Washington Square Park, in the Faubourg Marigny neighborhood, and are free to the public.
The concerts will be held on Saturday afternoons, this year from August 11 through September 8, from 4p.m.-6 p.m. The Charmaine Neville Band will inaugurate the series. Succeeding weeks will feature Susan Cowsill, Gal Holiday & the Honky Tonk Revue, Linnzi Zaorski & Delta Royale, and the Pfister Sisters. This is a both a welcome home for New Orleanians and a way for visitors to get a free taste of the music for which New Orleans is famous.
