By Sharon Keating, About.com

Rebirth in New Orleans is a long and arduous process. Making it more bearable are our indefatigable artists, and new among them is a recently formed theater group, The Cripple Creek Theater Company.

The Cripple Creek Theater Company:

Cripple Creek Theater was founded by Andrew Kingsley and Andrew Vaught. This non-profit company produces cultural, historical, and political drama "in order to provoke the general public into social action,." The works deal are professionally produced and performed, and as with all good art, deal with thought-provoking issues.

The Plays:

The first production will be "Kingdom Of Earth," a play by none other than Tennessee Williams, on October 18th-22nd & 25th-29th. Upcoming plays include "A Christmas Carol for George Wallace" written by Andrew Vaught scheduled for November 29th-December 3rd, 7th-10th, & 14th-17th. The play is set on Christmas Eve, after the attempted assassination of George Wallace. Also on tap for the future are works by Clifford Odets and Leo Tolstoy.

Where:

The first performances will be held at the Three Ring Circus, an arts center located at 1638 Clio Street, New Orleans, La. Tickets will go on sale three weeks before each opening night. For more information, see Cripple Creek Theater.
