Classic film series

By , About.com Guide

The New Orleans Museum of Art presents it's classic film series this June. Two uncensored, pre-code Hollywood films from the 1930's will be shown. All films begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Stern Auditorium in the New Orleans Museum of Art. The price is right, it's free to Museum members, and only $5 for non-members.

Schedule

Thursday, June 9 Ladies They Talk About (1933, Howard Bretherton & William Keighley) The ultimate in ladies' prison movies. Barbara Stanwick is the tough babe who refuses to squeal after a bank robbery and gets sent to the 'big house.'

Thursday, June 23 I Am A Fugitive From A Chain Gang (1932, Mervyn Le Roy) A fast-paced thriller with one of the most haunting endings in movie history. Prison life wouldn't look this rough on the screen again for decades.
