Backbeat Jazz Fest concerts

By , About.com Guide

Help New Orleans musicians recover

The Backbeat Foundation was formed in September 2005 to help displaced New Orleans musicians. All New Orleanians know that our music here in New Orleans is essential to our health and wellbeing, both physically and economically. Our rich heritage here in New Orleans just can't be duplicated, it must be authentic. With that in mind, the Backbeat Foundation was formed. It's an organization which provides assistance in finding housing, replacing instruments lost in Katrina, and most importantly, a gig.

Backbeat concert venue

The venue for the concert Backbeat series is the bar at Loft 523, located at 523 Gravier Street in the American Sector. That's walking distance from the French Quarter.

Schedule

The Backbeat Foundation has several concerts planned starting with the Jazz Fest concert series during Jazz Fest weekends (April 27 - May 7, 2006)
