From August 7-9, New Orleanians and visitors can find "Christmas in August."
Disney's Christmas Carol Train Tour
New Orleans is one of 40 cities on the track of a special train from Disney. This is an interactive experience to promote the release of "Disney's A Christmas Carol" which stars Jim Carrey. The train consists of four custom-designed vintage rail cars full of behind-the-scenes treats, entertaining demonstrations, and fun activities. The cars display authentic artifacts on loan from the Charles Dickens Museum of London, artwork, costumes and props from the film. Computer technology will allow you to transform yourself into one of the film's characters.
Disney will erect a Digital 3D theater at each stop where you can see a sneak peek of the film along with some behind the scenes material.
In New Orleans
The train stops at the Riverview in Audubon Park, known locally as "The Fly," 6500 Magazine Street. On Friday and Saturday it will be open from 9am-7pm, and on Sunday from 9am-4pm. The event is free.
