Rhythmic Roots

The Rhythmic Roots Community Music Concert series is held every other Sunday through October in the St. Augustine Church Yard located at 1210 Gov. Nicholls St., New Orleans, LA 70116. The concerts are from 4 to 6 p.m. and are free to the public.

Listen to the soul of New Orleans

Get into the creative culture of New Orleans. At the concerts you'll find the fusing of various New Orleans musical elements is a core concept in bringing the community together through music. Rhythmic Roots continues to grow from its initial platform incorporating various styles reflective of the elements of New Orleans culture. The Rhythmic Roots Community Music Project is intent on creating collaborations that bring the community and the music together.

Make your own music

These concerts are fun, not only because there are some great local musicians. But, there are even more fun because you can participate! You are encouraged to bring your own percussion: drums, claves, tambourines, whatever helps you find your groove!
