What do the Kids Think?

I enlisted the help of friends, neighbors and family to find out what the children thought about Katrina. We limited it to children eight and under and we asked them this question, what did you learn in Hurricane Katrina? Here are some of the answers.

Blue skies are happy, black skies are sad.

It's more fun to go to Target when the Army guys are gone.

In a Hurricane boats go where cars are supposed to go.

The grocery store started to smell like stinky feet.

My little sister isn't so bad.

Texas has yucky food.

I like my teacher.

My Mom can really freak out

Next time I'm taking my cat

Wet stuff smells yucky

If you don't clean out your refrigerator, it stinks.

There's no Mardi Gras in Florida.

I couldn't get a sloppy roast beef sandwich.

Lightening can make a fire.

Dallas is really, really far away.

My Dad can't stand up in our new trailer.

School's not so bad.

I like my house.

My Paw Paw snores.

I really missed cable TV.

My MiMi really knows stuff.

I like my cousin very much.

I don't have to sleep with my little brother anymore--he wets the bed.

Next time we need more Oreos.

Helicopters are scary.

the animals at the zoo were really glad to see me again.
