The Congo Square Rhythms Festival

What:
The Congo Square Rhythms Festival is one of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation free cultural programs. The festival is part of the Foundation's efforts to promote Louisiana's music and culture through numerous cultural, educational and economic development activities. It's a two day festival with music and dance on two stages.
Where:
The festival is held annually in October in Congo Square, Armstrong Park, on the edge of the French Quarter at 901 N. Rampart St.
Music And Dance:
The music schedule always includes local musicians in every genre, including New Orleans Funk, Cajun/Zydeco, Jazz and R&B. There's always dancers as well, including traditional African Dancers, and the Mardi Gras Indians.
Crafts And Other Activities:
The festival includes a marketplace where many local handcrafted items can be purchased. There's also creative activities for the kids.
