The French Market Creole Tomato Festival

What?:

A celebration of the favorite food of the summer, the Creole Tomato. This special delicacy is used in many Creole dishes and other local cuisine. Best of all, it's free to the public.

Where?:

The festival takes place in the French Market area of the French Quarter of New Orleans. This is just one of the fun events happening at the French Market all year round. In the French Market, you'll not only a farmer's market with fresh Louisiana produce and seafood, there's a flea market that goes for blocks.

When?:

The Creole Tomato Festival is held on a weekend in the middle of June, and is an annual event.

More Than Tomatos:

The Creole Tomato Festival expands to include the Louisiana Seafood Festival or the Cajun-Zydeco Music Festival. Also, restaurants nearby have specialty dishes at special prices.

Other Activities:

Besides tomatos, there is music, a parade, cooking demonstrations, special kids activities and more at the Creole Tomato Festival. It's a great family activity.
