What:
an all day festival of music, art and culture celebrating the historic neighborhood of Mid-City - from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend.
Where:
The event will be held along the banks of scenic Bayou St. John and on the neutral ground of South Jefferson Davis Parkway. The Bayou Boogaloo is free and open to the
public. Donations are being accepted.
music:
Activities include a full day of music featuring notable local musical luminaries including Anders Osborne; the Kevin O'Day All Star Quartet featuring Walter "Wolfman" Washington and James Andrews; Big Chief Monk Boudreaux and Delta Funk; the
Revealers and many others.
Casa Samba, the city's premier Brazilian music and dance ensemble, will entertain
throughout the day on the neutral ground
Art market:
The Mid-City Art Market, which is celebrating its second anniversary, will be moving from its regular location to participate in the Bayou Boogaloo. Local and regional artists will be selling painting, pottery, jewelry, glass, metal, photography,
textiles, furniture and accessories.
