Parking at the Fairgrounds is limited and expensive ($20.00 a day). It's best to use public transportation.
Several options are available. You can take the Canal Street Streetcar marked "City Park/Museum" from downtown. Stay on the car to the end of the line (Beauregard Circle) That will put you is walking distance to the fairgrounds and there will booths set up to help you find it. Check the RTA site for more options on public transportation.
You can catch the Jazz Fest Express private bus service at the Sheraton on Canal Street, Hyatt Regency near the Superdome, the steamboat Natchez dock at Touluse and the River, and Marconi Meadow in City Park from 10:45 am to 8:00 pm. They run frequently and are a good deal at $15.00 for a round trip ticket ($12.00 from City Park). You have to buy a package deal including transportation and tickets to Jazzfest from Grayline, which operated the Jazz Fest Express. But, if you already have your tickets to Jazzfest and only want to get the bus ticket you can purchase them separately from Ticketmaster.
Cabs are anther way to go. Usually you can get a special event rate of $3.00 per person.
