Okay, yes, we do love our seafood here. In June, there is the Louisiana Seafood Festival in the Quarter, part of the Vieux To Do. Now, in the fall, we celebrate "New Orleans seafood."
The New Orleans Seafood Festival
The New Orleans Seafood Festival is sponsored by Harrah's Casino and the Louisiana Seafood Promotion Board, among other corporate sponsors. The festival is held in September at Fulton Square, on Fulton and Lafayette Streets, next to Harrah's Hotel. Fulton Square, or the Fulton Street Mall, is one block-long street where clubs and restaurants are located.
New Orleans-style seafood is featured and celebrated, and proceeds support the Louisiana Hospitality Foundation. Some of the restaurants participating in the festival are Arnaud's, Galatoire's, Mr. B's, Acme Oyster House, Drago's, Barreca's, Ernst Cafe, Cafe Giovanni, and more.
When
In 2009, the festival begins on Friday, September 25th and goes through Sunday the 27th.
