The New Orleans Seafood Festival

By Sharon Keating, About.com

Okay, yes, we do love our seafood here. In June, there is the Louisiana Seafood Festival in the Quarter, part of the Vieux To Do. Now, in lovely October, we are celebrating "New Orleans seafood."

The New Orleans Seafood Festival

The New Orleans Seafood Festival is sponsored by Harrah's Casino and the Louisiana Seafood Promotion Board, among other corporate sponsors. The festival will be held at Fulton Square, on Fulton and Lafayette Streets, next to Harrah's Hotel. Fulton Square, or the Fulton Street Mall, is one block-long street where clubs and restaurants are located.

New Orleans-style seafood is featured and celebrated, and proceeds support the Louisiana Hospitality Foundation. Some of the restaurants participating in the festival are Arnaud's, Galatoire's, Mr. B's, Acme Oyster House, Drago's, Barreca's, Ernst Cafe, Cafe Giovanni, and more.

When

The festival begins on Friday, October 3, from 4pm--9pm. Saturday, October 4, from 11am--9pm, and Sunday, October 4 5, from 11am--5pm.

There's a great lineup of musical entertainment on two stages. Get the music schedule.
