In February Mardi Gras parades dominate. Mardi Gras parades The French Quarter begins to get wild, building up to the big day.

In 2009 Mardi Gras day is February 24th. But kids are welcome and families are comfortable on St. Charles Ave. If you're new to all this better read up on it. The Carnival season and Mardi Gras day are very unique experiences no matter what your interests are. If you're an animal lover don't miss the parade for cats, Endymeow or Barkus for dogs. For the irreverent, not to sensitive sort, try the Krewe du Vieux

And, don't forget to celebrate Lundi Gras.

February 1st is the Mardi Gras Marathon.
