St. Roch Cemetery Campo Santo

Here is the entrance gate to this very unusual cemetery. While all cemeteries honor the dead, this one also celebrates the living as it was dedicated to St. Roch, honoring his divine intervention in saving the lives of many nearby parishioners in a deadly 18th century yellow-fever plague. The cemetery continues this tradition with its tokens and acknowledgements of cures attributed to St. Roch and other saints.
