Cemetery tours resume

Save Our Cemeteries has resumed its tours of two of New Orleans most famous cemeteries --St. Louis No.1 and Lafayette No. 1. This organization gives an historically accurate guided tour that is worth considering when you visit.

For Lafayette No. 1 Tour: Meet at the Washington Avenue gate, 1400 block of street (across from Commander's Palace) at 10:30 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Tour lasts about one hour. No reservations are needed, with a suggested donation of $6 for adults and $5 for seniors and students (12-18). Children under 12 free.

For St. Louis No. 1 Tour: Meet at the Royal Blend Coffee Shop, 621 Royal St. (guide will take you to the cemetery on Basin St.) at 10 a.m. Sundays. Tour lasts about one and a half hours. No reservations are needed, with a suggested donation of $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and students (12-18). Children under 12 admitted free. Contact Save our Cemeteries
