Empowerment Seminars
The Essence Music Festival is a "party with a purpose." Not only are there great concerts, there are also empowerment seminars showcasing African American culture, heritage and contributions to our lives as Americans.

The 2012 empowerment seminar schedule is not out yet, but it traditionall includes many editors from ESSENCE Magazine, a welcome to New Orleans from Mayor Mitch Landrieu, and many more.
Topics include, Getting your life back, My black is beautiful, Black men uncensored, Secrets to a happy marriage, Love, Sex and Drama,"Informed and In Charge: Sex in the Era of HIV, several education seminars, spiritual guidance, stopping violence and mentoring, and much more.
