As she has done for the last few years, Lisa Price, founder of Carol's Daughter Cosmetics is bringing a temporary store to the French Quarter in time for Essence Fest.
Carol's Daughter and Essence
Lisa Price is the brains behind the Carol's Daughter line of skin care, perfume and hair care for African American women. The products are all natural, and Price has some pretty famous clients, like Jada Pinkett Smith.
Naturally, Smith has a connection to Essence Fest. She has been to New Orleans five times, and this year she is located at 523 Iberville Street. Panel discussions on beauty will be held at her "pop-up" store, including product-making demonstrations, celebrity appearances, and professional makeup artists.
What About Disney?
Disney's upcoming new film, "The Princess and the Frog" will open in theaters on Dec. 11. It's a tale set in New Orleans, featuring Tiana, the first African-American Disney princess. In connection with the movie, Price and Disney have come up with a line of Carol's Daughter children's products. Princess Tiana bubble bath, shampoo, conditioner and detangling mist. The products will soon be available for the other little princesses around the country.
