Every year on the first Saturday in August in the Warehouse/Arts District of New Orleans, Julia Street becomes a giant party area with music, food, and of course, art. That's because the first Saturday of August is White Linen Night in New Orleans. In 2011 that's August 6th.
What About Food?
This year food will be available by 7 on Fulton, Aloha Sushi, Bombay Club, Broussard’s Restaurant, Crepes a la Cart, GW Fins, New Orleans Ice Cream Company, Nirvana, Pinkberry, Sun Ray Grill, Theo’s Pizza, Wolfe’s in the Warehouse,Ye Olde Kettle Cooker . .and more! There will also be tables and chairs set up in the street and plenty of cash bars around.
Entertainment
This year the music will be from 6 - 9pm you can hear Alex McMurray’s Old-Timey Revue, Ingrid Lucia and The National WWII Museum’s Victory Belles on the stages on Julia Street.
Satchmo Summerfest
This year the Satchmo SummerFest, celebrating the Jazz of Louis Armstrong is happening on the same weekend at the Old U.S. Mint in the French Quarter. Don't miss this.
The After Party
There's always a party during and after White Linen Night at the Contemporary Arts Center nearby with more music and food. This party requires a ticket for entry. Cost is $10 and the party is from 9pm to 11pm. Here's where to get the information on that.
