Usual Events:
White Linen Night is always a favorite event of the summer in New Orleans. It has become a very large event and is the place to see, and be seen. Strolling down Julia Street with a martini, popping in and out of the art galleries, it's the only place to be on the first Saturday of August in New Orleans.
Special Events:
Although the main event happens on Julia Street at the street party and in the art galleries, there are many other events happening on White Linen Night, that you won't want to miss. Here's a list of the best:
- Musicial Entertainment-from 6 - 9 pm The Troi Bechet Trio will play in the 300 block of Julia, and the Johnny Sansone Duo will be in the 600 block.
- The Contemporary Arts Center will host a party from 6pm to midnight, featuring provocative art, entertainment, cash bars and cuisine by 5 Fifty 5 and Chop's Bistro and Martini Bar. There will also be Music of New Orleans Series concert with John Mooney & Friends from 9 pm to midnight. Admission is free for members and $10 for non-members.
- Food Twelve of the best [link=urlhttp://goneworleans.about.com/od/restaurants/a/warehouserestau.htm]restaurants in the Warehouse/Arts District[/link] will have food booths at in the 300 - 500 block of Julia.
- New Orleans Artworks at New Orleans GlassWorks and Printmaking Studio has 28 New Orleans Chiefs demonstrating sugar blowing through the end of September. The demonstrations are free and open to the public. On White Linen Night there's a big galla desert party from 6 pm to 9 pm.
- The Transportation Revolution is having an official Ducati Launch Party from sponsored by Peroni Beer from 6 to 10.
