Back in the 90's if you wanted to dine at one of New Orleans' finest restaurants you had to look no further than Mike's on the Avenue! Fine dining, exquisite service and a spectacular view of the streetcars clanking by on St. Charles Avenue. Who could ask for more?
The new venture will be located in the same place where the old Mike's was in the Lafayette Hotel in the Warehouse/Arts District, only ten years later. Co-owner Vicky Bailey is back and promised the new Mike's will be just as good as the old, but something different."
Bayley and co-owner/chef Mike Fennelly will call the new restaurant Mike's East-West and it will reflect his cooking experiences from Santa Fe, N.M., San Francisco, Hawaii and Cape Cod, Mass. according to Anderson's piece. The menu will also showcase foods from India and Japan and will feature a non-traditional sushi bar.
The new restaurant promises to be more casual than the original which I like since I plan to dine there after every concert in Lafayette Square and then some! Welcome back to St. Charles Avenue Vicky and Mike, we have missed you!

Mike and Vicky have failed to capture the magic of their first place. They’ve trotted out the old girls from the original restaurant, and now the place just has a tired and old feel to it.
