Living History

Saturday December 17, 2005
During the holidays at the Monteleleone Hotel, Louisiana Living History Characters clad in holiday dress will entertain and educate guests with tales, songs and dances. Come meet notables such as Napoleon Bonaparte, Marie Laveau, President Thomas Jefferson, and some riverboat gamblers. Monte the mountain lion will make his debut as the focal point of this year’s holiday tree located in the hotel lobby. Hotel Monteleone will also provide an opportunity to adopt a "Monte the Lion" stuffed animal from the holiday tree. Participating children and guests have the option of taking him home, or giving him as a gift to another child at Children’s Hospital. The proceeds from the event will go directly to the New Orleans Tourism Recovery Fund.
