Phoenix Rising

A sign of improving times is on Magazine Street at Washington Avenue. Table One, a Mediterranean restaurant, has opened at the venue formerly occupied by The Living Room. As a matter of fact, Table One used to be Byblos, which was also on Magazine Street a few blocks down. Byblos had planned the move prior to the hurricane, and opened on this past Saturday. It was crowded with the "new usual" mix of uptowners and local security, including police, firemen, FBI, Army Corps of Engineers, etc.

We all had kebobs, which came with hummus and rice, all of which were very tasty and well-seasoned. Perhaps best of all, we had real utensils, real plates, and real napkins and glasses. It is open from 1:00 to 9:00pm. Read more.
