"R" is for Oysters

Monday November 1, 2004
It's November, and in New Orleans that means it's oyster season. Traditionally, oysters are not at their best in the summer on the Gulf Coast, so the rule to remember is "Eat oysters in any month that has an 'r' in its name." Locals like to belly up to the oyster bar at Acme Oyster House in the French Quarter. Pascal's Manale Restaurant and Casamento's, both uptown, are New Orleans' institutions.
