Baby Boom
Monday November 1, 2004
There's a baby boom at the Audubon Zoo these days. Satchmo, the baby rhino, can be seen wandering freely through the African Savanna Habitat. Zoo-keepers say he has his mother's horn. Nearby in the World of Primates Exhibit you will find proud howler monkey parents, Salsa and Mijo, showing off baby Grito. In the Louisiana Swamp Exhibit nursery you can visit Choctaw, a little orphan bobcat found near Fort Polk and brought to the zoo. Two new Jaguars are in the Jaguar Jungle, and there are numerous baby birds including flamingos. For a printable map to help you find all the newborns, log on to the Audubon Zoo.
